Like Megan said you are welcome to attend our meeting tonight (tues) to get an idea where we are in the permitting process...yeah, looks like the city really needs for us to be insured, and it seems easy enough for us to do anyway. Now, about the porta-potties....

We have a liability waiver as part of the paper registration now and the on-line registration is being updated to add the waiver. (Our web guru has been under the weather.) The fee is listed as a suggested donation. But we are planning on getting liability insurance through US track and field just to cover our bases.

Looking forward to running at the Endorphathon, avid runner, sounds fun.

Just some ideas after reading the discussions here regarding logistics, etc. Regarding liability, what about instead of charging a "race fee" you had a "suggested donation"; instead of "endorphathon sponsors", "endorphathon supporters"? Would that reduce your liability?

Does transmitting your race information through community list-servers and other community-based non-profit groups constitute "advertising"? Has anyone suggested a liability waiver for participants? I know a lawyer whom I could ask some of these questions, depending on where you guys are in the process, let me know.

Like if we get Lily from Pho to donate a gift certificate, we can put her on the t-shirt. How cool would that be? We could get some advertising in for our favorite Vietnamese joint while promoting EPC.
